The Atlas of Barbarism investigates how urban systems shape movement, access, and behavior through spatial planning, barriers, signage, and other forms of control. Focusing on the Wangjing area of Beijing, the project studies how these mechanisms become embedded in everyday environments and how they influence the way people navigate and experience the city.

The research was translated into a multi-part visual system combining large-format maps, editorial design, chapter-based publications, indexes, hand-built collage maps, and exhibition display. Together, these outputs demonstrate a visual system developed across information design, publication, material experimentation, and spatial presentation.
